Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 17, 2026

SipScout ("we," "us," "our"), operated by Jscholz Innovations, doing business as SipScout, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use the SipScout website (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact form to submit a tip, correction, or feedback, we collect your name (optional), email address, and the content of your submission.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Service, we and our analytics provider automatically collect:

  • Search queries you enter (e.g. neighborhood or address);
  • Approximate location derived from your search (we don't collect precise device GPS);
  • Device and browser type, screen size, and operating system;
  • IP address (used and stored in truncated form by Google Analytics);
  • Pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with the site;
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.

2. How we use information

  • To operate and improve the Service, including surfacing relevant deals;
  • To respond to your contact-form submissions and follow up if needed;
  • To understand aggregate usage patterns via analytics;
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical or security issues;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect information such as your device, browser, pages visited, and truncated IP address. Google may use this data as described in its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

4. Advertising

We may introduce advertising on the Service in the future. If and when we do, we will update this Policy to describe what data ad partners receive and the choices available to you.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g. hosting, analytics, email delivery) under confidentiality obligations;
  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, users, or the public;
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to standard protections.

6. Data retention

We keep contact-form submissions for as long as reasonably needed to respond to them and maintain quality records, generally no more than 24 months. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect. No online service is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you're a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
  • Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions;
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law;
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us at jagger.scholz3@gmail.com or through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

9. Children

SipScout is intended for users 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

The Service links to third-party sites (such as venue websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before sharing information.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, when appropriate, by a more prominent notice.
